Latest DRINFO Project: Smoking Cessation Intervention

Improved Performance across a large population

Our recent focus has been on "smoking status recording" - I showed all the practices how to send bulk text via the DRINFO SMS service and then we watched as the replies came in to the DRINFO patient list. We also sent bulk SMS to our women who were overdue for cervical screening and asked them to phone the practice - whilst I was still at one practice, the receptionist came to ask if anyone could help take phone calls from patients wanting to book CX smears! A key learning for us was to make sure we involve the reception team in any response initiatives. Texting reminders from the DRINFO flu list also helped us reach our flu vaccine target this year

Cardiovascular Risk Assessment

DrInfo was able to assist a PHO and their practices improve performance in Cardiovascular Risk assessment by identifying groups of patients where data available was sufficient to calculate the risk for each patient and recall high risk patients for an intervention. a bulk CVD risk assessment was inserted into each practices' system automatically
